CT (CTCSS) is a sub-audible tone squelch system used by FRS radios. Privacy codes 1–38 use CTCSS tones. DCS (Digital-Coded Squelch) covers privacy codes 39–121. All Rocky Talkie factory presets on channels 23–128 use CT codes (12, 18, 24, 32, 38). Privacy codes filter what you hear — they are not encryption.
Rocky Talkie supports all 121 privacy codes on any of the 22 base channels. Channels 23–128 are convenience shortcuts with factory-preset codes. To manually set a privacy code: unlock the radio (hold channel flipper forward 2 seconds), flip to desired channel, hold Volume Down for 2 seconds until CT/DCS flashes, use the flipper to pick your code number, then press any button to save.
Turn on with the power/volume dial, press Menu so the channel number flashes, use up/down to select your channel, press Menu again so the privacy code flashes, use up/down to select the matching code number, then wait 5 seconds or press OK to save. The display shows the format A01.038 (channel 1, privacy code 38).
Rocky Talkie channel 86 converts to BCA Channel 20 with privacy code CT 24 (151.4 Hz). On the BCA Link Mini, this displays as A20.024.
